In 1960 what used to be called Louis Widmer + Co began selling the first pharmaceutical skin medications and dermocosmetics that Louis-Edouard Widmer and Louis-Max Widmer had developed in collaboration with dermatologists. This was also the Widmer family's first innovation, because they were among the first in Switzerland to produce skin care products co-developed and clinically tested by dermatologists. In the decades that followed, other pioneering efforts and product innovations followed at regular intervals.

Louis Widmer still works together closely with dermatologists and clinics today. New findings in dermocosmetics and dermatology constantly inform its product development and manufacturing. This is how the company ensures all its products meet the highest standards of quality, effectiveness and tolerability.

To ensure optimal tolerability, most products are only lightly perfumed or contain no perfume at all. The fragrance-free line is not "odour-adjusted". The fact that the products have a pleasant aroma even without "adjustment" is thanks to consistent use of the purest raw materials and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques.
